About Our Family Meeting Place
UPDATE! Dear Townsend family, please be aware I recently uncovered a mistake in my
research and have removed a significant number of ancestors previously displayed. I
will be working on rebuilding this branch over the coming weeks and could certainly use
any and all proven records, data photos or copies of certificates from family already
passed please. Sorry for any inconvienience this may have caused, Cheers Jim..

I would like to recognize the help and support of all the family and family history
friends who over the last 9 years have helped me by providing me with raw data, photos,
and significant support, all are greatly appreciated:-)

Over the past eight years or so I have squirreled away every snippet of family
history, stories and as many photographs and documents as possible in hopes of
one day creating a family tree I would be proud to share with you all and I am
happy to say that wonderful day came in very early December 2007.

Early one morning as I sat sipping my coffee and peering at the accumulated
boxes of research I slumped back in my chair and asked myself one simple
question, what use is this project if no one gets to see it but me?

My answer to that conundrum comes from living a life that has been hectic,
chaotic, unimaginable, frustrating and in the same breath so beautiful and
rewarding I am often lost for words as how to express my good fortune and
gratitude at the opportunities I was granted! You see I have lived life,
created life, taken life, and loved a good woman and seen much of this world and
known what it is like to face fear head on and am still a relatively young man
with ambitions to achieve much more before I am done so was not giving in to a
doctors negative prognosis for my future quite yet!

Before I continue on please accept this family tree as my humble gift to you and
your families from ours, and know it is our wish to maintain this tree and add so many
more branches and twigs of the family to create a small forest of
family for us all to enjoy well into the future.. It is our hope that you will
look at your particular branch and supply us with stories and details of
your loved ones to add next to their profiles bringing them virtually to life on
these pages for us all to experience without judgment or bias.

Please send stories about yourself that you wish posted to share with your
grandchildren and others in the family so they can read about your experiences,
achievements and what you feel about them etc.. Please send photographs,
documents, certificates, recipes or what have you that you may wish to be part
of this Your Family History and I will do my best to post it in the most
effective way considering privacy and identity security.. This site does not
show specific details of those still living as confidentially is high on our agenda
and must be maintained in today?s society..

The site is password protected for the security of all so I ask that you do your
part in helping me by protecting our family history carefully and only sharing this
site with known family!

This site and our family tree project became a reality when I fell ill in 2001
while working as a Facility Operations Manager responsible for a significant
portfolio of Banks with a district covering the entire West coast of Canada. Upon
reflection I now know all too well why I became ill and missed so much of my
sons early years and home life with my better half Ann. Hind sight is great and
today I have few regrets for the choices I made to provide for my wonderful
family but I still faced a future with the Physicians prognosis which was grim
so as I saw it I had two choices, drown in self pity or do something positive
with my time hoping to one day make a difference again!

I began this project with interest in Genograms, health related genealogy
(family history) or finding commonalities in a family lines regarding health
situations. (Cancers, Arthritis, M.E etc) Soon I was hooked and the rest as
they say is history. lol

I hope you enjoy reviewing our tree, come back often and bring a family members
with you!

Jim, Ann and Jonathan

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthday and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
